In the first match of the day, Tafea Cricket Club faced Splashe Mele Bulls in a thrilling contest. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Bulls faced early setbacks as they struggled to find momentum against Sandalwood's disciplined bowling attack. Despite a valiant effort from Patrick Matautaava, who showcased his prowess with a magnificent 68 off 40 balls, including five fours and five sixes, the Bulls were restricted to a total of 87/9 in their allotted 16 overs. Tafea's Wamejo Wotu proved to be the tormentor-in-chief, wreaking havoc with a spectacular spell of 5 wickets for just 11 runs. Supported by Williamsing Nalisa's two crucial wickets, Sandalwood's bowlers effectively dismantled the Bulls' batting lineup.
Chasing a target of 88 runs for victory, Tafea Cricket Club's innings got off to a steady start, with opener Darren Wotu and Wamejo Wotu laying a solid foundation. Ronald Tari and Nick Venables provided crucial support to Cutler, chipping in with one and two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 81 runs for victory, the North Efate Bush Pigs got off to a cautious start, losing a few early wickets.
