Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu Women's Cricket Team Heads to Auckland for the Highly Anticipated Pacific Cup Showdown

The Vanuatu Cricket Association is pleased to announce the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu Women’s Cricket Team for the upcoming 2024 Pacific Cup to be held in Auckland. Scheduled from January 17th to 21st, the team, recent winners of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup EAP Qualifiers, is set to face Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, and the newly formed Aotearoa Māori team in what promises to be an exciting competition.

The competition is a key stepping stone for the women's team to enhance their teamwork before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in April 2024. This qualifier presents their opportunity to earn a spot in the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Coach, Josh Rasu commented:

“Building off the performance and recent win of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier last year our focus has been on refining the squad in preparation for not just the Pacific Cup, where we aim for success, but also for our upcoming qualifier, the gateway to the World Cup.

"The competition will be interesting, especially with the Aotearoa Māori team joining, which could pose a challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing our squad in action."
