Pikinini Cricket League Celebrates Two Weeks of Junior Cricket

The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Pikinini Cricket League U11 and U13 competitions, held over two weeks and bringing together 14 schools from across the Port Vila area.

The league provided an exciting platform for young cricketers to compete, develop their skills and, most importantly, enjoy the game in a positive and supportive environment.

The 14 participating schools were:

  • Life Changer School

  • Survival School

  • Pango English School

  • Pango French School

  • Club Hippique School

  • Central School

  • June Berg School

  • Malasitabu School

  • Erakor Bilingual School

  • Melemaat School

  • Vila SDA School

  • Seaside School

  • Beverly Hills School

  • Grace Etas School

Across the two-week competition, students had the opportunity to gain valuable match experience, build confidence and put their developing cricket skills into practice.

Champions: Central School Runners-up: Pango English School

U13 Boys

Champions: Grace Etas School Runners-up: Central School

U13 Girls

Champions: Club Hippique School Runners-up: Beverly Hills School

The Vanuatu Cricket Association sincerely thanks and acknowledges all participating schools, teachers, coaches and school communities for their time, commitment and support throughout the competition.

Their efforts in preparing teams, supporting players and ensuring students were able to attend and participate in matches were instrumental to the success of the Pikinini Cricket League.

Competitions such as the Pikinini Cricket League play an important role in the development of cricket in Vanuatu. They provide young boys and girls with regular opportunities to play the game, develop their skills, build confidence, learn teamwork and experience the excitement of competitive sport.

The VCA also congratulates every school that took part and, most importantly, all of the young cricketers who stepped onto the field throughout the competition.

Congratulations to all participants on a fantastic two weeks of junior cricket. We look forward to watching these young players continue their cricket journey, develop their skills and build a lifelong love for the game.
