Port Moresby to Host ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier Starting April 8

April 8 PORT MORESBY, PNG – April 7, 2026 The regional pathway to the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup officially begins tomorrow at Amini Park. Five national teams from across the East Asia-Pacific region—Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Vanuatu—will compete in a six-day tournament scheduled from April 8 to April 13, 2026. The competition features a round-robin format where each team will play against the others once. The nation that finishes at the top of the standings after the final matches on April 13 will be crowned regional champion and secure direct qualification for the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, to be co-hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal. Tournament Details: Host Venue: Amini Park, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Competing Nations: Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea (PNG Siales), Samoa, and Vanuatu. Opening Day Fixtures (Wednesday, April 8): 9:30 AM: Samoa vs. Vanuatu. 1:30 PM: Fiji vs. Papua New Guinea. This tournament highlights the growth of women's youth cricket in the region, offering fans the opportunity to witness high-stakes international competition.
