Vanuatu Cricket & National Youth Council Continues “Come Try Out Cricket” Holiday Program

Vanuatu Cricket has been working in partnership with the National Youth Council, visiting communities in and around Port Vila to run the “Come Try Out Cricket” program. This program is designed to bring fun, energy, and excitement to young people during the school holidays. Open to children as young as five through to youth, this initiative aims to introduce the game of cricket in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

The program focuses on fun-based activities, simple skills, and inclusive games, giving participants the chance to experience the thrill of cricket – whether picking up a bat for the first time or sharpening their skills. More than just sport, it’s about building confidence, teamwork, and friendships while staying active over the break.

The National Youth Council has strongly backed the initiative, recognising its value in engaging young people in meaningful and healthy activities. Their support highlights the growing commitment to youth development through sport across Vanuatu.

Organisers promise a day of laughter, learning, and plenty of action on the field. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids along to enjoy the game in a safe and welcoming environment.
