Their journey to the Japan Premier League follows their remarkable victories over EAP nations, including a formidable Japanese side during the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier. Their wins secured their qualification for the 2024 global qualifiers, where the squad recently showcased their talent.

The official announcement from the Japan Cricket Association (JCA) is a significant milestone for Solman and Andrew, who have demonstrated their skill and resilience on the cricket field. Their selection highlights the growing recognition of Vanuatu's cricketing talent on the international stage.

As detailed in a press release from the JCA, Solman and Andrew's inclusion in the Japan Premier League exemplifies the tournament's commitment to fostering diversity and promoting women's cricket worldwide. Their participation not only highlights their skills but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring cricketers in Vanuatu and beyond.

Solman and Andrew have begun journeyed to Tokyo from Abu Dhabi after the Global Qualifiers and are set to join the Women’s Japan Premier League, with Solman in the Eastern Waves team and Andrew in the Western Eagles team. The league comprises players from various nations including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia, and South Africa, promising to elevate the competitiveness of women's cricket in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The tournament kicks off today, May 14th, with the first five matches in a T10 format. It will conclude on May 19th with the remaining three matches in T20 format. This presents an opportunity for the players to apply lessons learned from the qualifiers and further develop their skills alongside top-tier players.
