The new Interchange Vanuatu Cricket Academy began its first trial sessions this week, ahead of its official launch in the coming weeks. Designed to develop the next generation of cricketing talent, the academy is still open for new participants eager to join a vibrant and competitive environment.

Training sessions are now underway for both boys and girls, structured to support young cricketers at different stages of development:

  • Monday, 12 May at 1:00 PM – Sessions open to students aged 13 to 15

  • Tuesday, 13 May at 1:00 PM – Sessions open to students aged 15 to 18

  • LAST SESSION-Tuesday, 20 May at 1:00 PM – Sessions open to students aged 13 to 18

"We are excited to welcome our first cohort of students and look forward to seeing them thrive in our interactive and supportive environment, said High Performance & Pathways Manager Chris Laffan, who will oversee the program in Port Vila, Santo, and Tanna. “Our doors remain open, and we encourage more young learners to take advantage of this opportunity to grow and connect.”

The Interchange Cricket Academy program focuses on more than just batting and bowling – it provides holistic training that emphasises discipline, teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness.

Through 45 weekly sessions of structured drills, match simulations, and strategic workshops, students gain the edge needed to excel both on and off the field.

Whether aspiring to compete at school, club, or professional levels, the Interchange Cricket Academy offers a platform where young talent can flourish under expert guidance and mentorship.
