The Vanuatu Cricket Association is set to bring more exciting T10 action with the ‘Ridgway Blake Lawyers T10 League’ starting on Saturday October 31st at the Vanuatu Cricket Grounds and concluding on November 28th.


The Vanuatu Cricket Association is set to bring more exciting T10 action with the ‘Ridgway Blake Lawyers T10 League’ starting on Saturday October 31st at the Vanuatu Cricket Grounds and concluding on November 28th. The competition is a high-performance competition, and it will feature the best club cricketers on Efate and elite players in the National Training Squads and it will serve as a pathway for players into the Vanuatu National training squads for the year 2021. The teams playing in the competition will be the same teams from the Inaugural BetBarter Vanuatu Blast namely, the Ifira Sharks, the Mighty Efate Panthers, and the Mele Tafea Bulls. However, this competition will see the inclusion of women’s teams for each of the participating team, giving the competition another edge and the opportunity to promote Vanuatu Cricket’s talented female cricketers. VCA CEO, Shane Deitz, expressed that he is excited for this tournament because it will offer competitive cricket as Vanuatu’s best cricketers will be competing in it. “The VCA is grateful to have the support of the Ridgway Blake Lawyers who are the naming right sponsors for this high-performance competition. They have been fantastic supporters of Vanuatu Cricket for many years and we are thankful for their support and for choosing to help us elevate the talents of our cricketers through this competition. “The best cricketers in Vanuatu will be competing in the Ridgway Blake T10 League and I have no doubts that the tournament will be extremely competitive and exciting. “The inclusion of the women’s teams adds an additional element of excitement to the whole competition because we have talented female cricketers in Vanuatu who are capable of putting on a show with their skills on the field. We are committed to developing the women’s game and this is the perfect opportunity to do that. “Our last T10 competition was very successful and we are looking forward to celebrating and cheering with our local cricket community and supporters and we are inviting everyone to come down to the Vanuatu Cricket Grounds every Saturday starting on October 31st,” he said. The competition will start every Saturday at 10:00am to 12:00pm with two women’s matches in the morning and two men’s matches in the afternoon from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The Vanuatu Cricket Association is inviting the local sporting communitynto join them during this competition to celebrate the achievements of sport in the country and start building sporting partnerships that will boost the development of sport nationally.
