Darwin, NT — Southern Districts Cricket Club, a leading force in the Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition —
The duo, who both represented Vanuatu in the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, have secured professional contracts with the club, marking another milestone in their evolving cricket journeys. The season, which kicks off in April and runs through September 2025, will see both players competing at the highest level of women’s cricket in the Territory.

This move underscores the growing opportunities for players from the Pacific region to transition into professional circuits abroad. Rachel Andrew returns to Australia following her recent stint with Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club in the Victorian Women’s Premier Cricket Competition. Her continued development, alongside Vicky Mansale, will not only strengthen Southern Districts' squad but also bolster Vanuatu’s future international campaigns.
“This opportunity for both Rachel and Vicky allows them to continue to develop as cricketers and leaders, further enhancing their future performances for Vanuatu,” said High Performance Manager Chris Laffan. “It’s a credit to both players and their recent output at the 2024 T20 World Cup Global Qualifier that has won them playing contracts and the chance to play professionally abroad.”
The club remains committed to fostering international talent and providing pathways for athletes to shine on the world stage. This partnership with Vanuatu’s top cricketers exemplifies the power of sport to bridge nations and nurture excellence.
